Berita 24 English - Singapore Telecommunications said it has no plans to list its Australian unit Optus, denying rumours that it was working on an initial public offering that would value the wireless carrier at between A$8 billion ($5.54 billion) and A$12 billion.

On Monday, Singtel said that the news stories published by Australian media were "highly speculative." It said that it regularly reviews its strategy and would make an announcement if there was any information that should be made public.

The Australian: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/dataroom/singtel-weighs-8bn-plus-listing-options-for-optus/news-story/8ab1965627e53bda9a925451f6cfe31c said that Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley had been working on a plan to list Optus in the past few months, but Singtel was likely to put the listing on hold because of the instability of the market.

For the years 2021 and 2022, Optus reported operating revenue of A$7.84 billion and core profit of A$2.07 billion.

By 5:11 GMT, Singtel shares had gone up 1.6%, to S$2.62.
